In Edgar Allan Poe&8217s &8220The Pit and the Pendulum and &8220The Masque of the Red Death, the causation uses different symbolism to illustrate the image of stopping point. In both of these stories, termination is the final result of a punishment, the end of a human&8217s heart. However, in the first story, Poe sees us that there exists something in human &8216s tone that is more terrible than wipe come to the fore. And in the second story, Poe tells us that demise is inevitable and it is useless if you try to escape it. From the beginning of &8220The Pit and the Pendulum, Poe starts to appearance us the desperation and the little curse the fabricator senses in the prison house.
